So, why the current Prime Minister will resign? Well, I really have no idea. It seems he didn’t have much power in this party and decide not to run this election.
What disappointed me was that all candidates are almost over 60-year-old, meanwhile, it was really encouraging that two females challenged this election, which was absolutely new situation and tells me the gender gap is slowly narrowing. Hope the average age of politicians becomes younger!!!
さて、なぜ現首相は辞任するのか知ってますか。えっと、私は本当にわかりません。どうやら菅さんは自民党内であまり力を持っていないようで出ても負けるこの総裁選には出ないことに決めたんだとか。
今回の総裁選でがっかりだったのは、候補者のほぼ全員が60歳を超えていることでした。一方、2人の女性がこの選挙に挑戦したことは本当に元気を与えてくれていると思います。こんな状況いままでにはなかったなぁと思いますし、日本社会で性別による格差の縮小がゆっくりとはじまってきたのかなと思いたいです。あとは、政治家の平均年齢がもっと若くなってくれるといいんですが。
