Azumi’s Easy Japanese Small Talk🎙 #410

Do you know the Japanese vaccinate vocabulary? The Japan Times provides interesting linguistic articles.

  • vaccine…ワクチン
  • inoculation/vaccination…接種せっしゅ
  • a slight prick…チクッ

チクッ is a sort of onomatopoeia for injection. Please try using it, like 「チクッとしただけで全然いたくなかった!」

When you want to know if someone has gotten a shot, how would you ask? Probably most natives ask like this, ‘もうワクチン打った?’ Since the action うつ is genuinely the moment a needle stick in the arm, once it is done then that will be past tense.

You also can as an experience question with ているform present, such as ‘もうワクチン打ってますか?’

予防接種用に関連する語彙は知っていますか?The Japan Timesの言語記事は日本で生活する上での語彙をたくさん紹介しています。

  • ワクチン
  • 接種
  • チクッとする

Japanese vaccine vocabulary is just what the doctor ordered
With coronavirus vaccines slowly making their way through the country, it's as good a time as any to administer a shot of new Japanese words and terms.

Thanks for accessing my content. I began this personal project for many reasons. Some are altruistic, others for myself. Both are crucial for me to continue this project. And, I am hoping if you can show your interest in my content in some ways. One way is contacting me via text. Another way is here, donation. It would be great for me to know that someone wants to listen to my channel. I actually do not like doing this kind of thing. You know, it could be a strong impact for me to receive, if it doesn’t work. In the end, the attempt to seek people’s support can show the reality that no one actually likes it. So, it takes 400th episodes for me to make this big step. So far, as I expected, no one has appeared yet. But, I am going to be patient, probably until 500th? haha So, if you’d be kind to support me, please visit the following link! ありがとう。
