「文化は心の病気のようなもの。」今読んでいる本にそんな一節があります。その章全体は、文化というものに対して、人間 (サピエンス)は選ぶことなどできないと説明しています。文化というものは、以下のような特徴を持ちます。
- ウィルスのように広がる
- みんなに害に及ぼしウィルス自体にだけ拡大するという利益をもたらす
- 意識はない
- 意識的に生き残ろうとか、繁殖しようということもない
日本のハロウィーンはユニークな形で進化をしています。日本が誇る文化を混合して形を作り上げる能力がいかんなく発揮されています。文化はコントロールできないものである、それを実によく表していると思うのです。
